Listening to Dusk

Contributed by Dom on Sunday, 3rd August 2008 @ 07:41:25 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Open the windows this evening.
It is time to let in the dusk and with it the world
You have been ignoring.
Let it in before blinds are drawn on today.
You do not even have to see,
Being is enough.
Let in the permeating stillness, birdsong,
The wind sighing.
Let them speak to you as soloists before ensemble.
Until you can feel the crow’s wings pulsing,
Until you can see the sky painting night,
Until you can breathe with them
You will not hear the day’s concerto
Or how it fades to a single choirboy’s
Final notes:

It is time to change your life.

This poem brings the reader right to that open window. I can actually feel the "dusk and with it the world" penetrate me as I read on.
What's the word I'm looking for...emotive, imagery....no, ...empathic! ...Yes, thats the word.
I am right there with you.
