~In A Coma~

Contributed by Jenni_K on Friday, 1st August 2008 @ 01:24:07 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

~~^~~

Lying here in a coma, watching as you stare.
I never knew till now that you really did care.

I listen as you pour your heart out to me.
Asking how you could have been too blind to see.

I hear you say my smiles you will miss,
And that you wish you’d given me one last kiss.

You say you’re sorry for causing me pain
And for being the reason I was on that train.

I see the hurt that you tried so hard to disguise,
I see it all so clearly in your beautiful brown eyes.

Why did it take a disaster to bring you to your senses?
You say now, you’re ready to mend all the fences.

You admit you were afraid to speak your mind,
But a truer love you could never find.

I watch as you get down on your knees,
“Oh God, allow her live for me, please.”

This touches me to my very core
And makes me want to go on living some more.

I wish I could tell you there is nothing to forgive,
For you have once more given me the will to live.

~~^~~

And it just flowed.

OMG Jenni! This is outstanding! How beautiful and sad all at once.

I've always said your heart is the truest and most rare there is.
And I was right. You'd have to be made of stone for this not to
affect you. Exceptional writing, as always my friend.
