Tonight, I miss you more than usual,
The pain that I carry, usually with such grace,
Hidden under a blanket of forgotten hopes and desserted dreams,
Has broken the surface,
Searing my heart with a pain so fearful,
I cannot catch my breath.
I wonder if another woman haunts your bed,
Whilst memories of me still haunt your dreams,
As you do mine, arms outstretched, offering a second chance.
Remind me, as I forget, did you not say you loved me?
Or were those promises lies, disguised by their whispered sincerity?
Still, I cling to those words with every ounce of hope left in me,
Praying to a God I never believed existed,
That you would realise your mistake.
Do you not realise that you make my heart melt?
With one simple touch I am lost in chaos,
A part of me, forever yours.
