For Love

Contributed by KismetsPoet on Sunday, 27th July 2008 @ 01:51:35 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

For love, I'll hide
The conflict inside
With scorned, bitter pride
And watch his rage rise

For love, I'll lie
Even though I might die
As I bleed and I cry
And the sun leaves the sky

For love, I'll lay still
And I'll bend to his will
Though the pain in me kills
And with shame, my heart fills

For love, I'll sigh
As I gather my pride
Pack my things for a ride
End the conflict inside

Yes, the things we do for love - even take a smack in the mouth and a kick in the self-respect some times, but only so far, as you final stanza shows. Well expressed and a good re-occurring rhyme scheme.

Beautifully written and nice flow and rhythm and use of rhymes. The message in this kind of describes why I hate love, the way I took it it was the opposite of a fear of commitment, totally willing, totally dedicated, even if it means having to walk away. I really enjoyed this, thank you for posting it!

I like this one. I think I am hiding as well. Take care
