Needing hope

Contributed by Phantomvampyress on Sunday, 27th July 2008 @ 01:19:19 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Even though the sun is shining
it's still raining at my house

Everything is wrong
some in my family are gone
I wish tonight, some light would shine upon us all
without the darkness to cover the hope

Send us the strength so we can cope .. with what is to be

Lightning crashed down on our reality
vivid images of long ago
remember the peace and keep it close by

Don't forget to read the letter I didn't write
never lose true sight of who you really are
just hold on strong and carry your scars
I am certain that someday you will be a true star...

this poem is softer in it's approach,
comforting to read conveys a form
of shelter from the storm of life,
truly gradifying to read Jenn as
all your beautiful work is . . .

sometimes it is harder to watch those around us suffer than to go through things ourselves...you shine a light here...beautifully written

"Don't forget to read the letter I didn't write" - THAT PART JUST MAKES THE POEM FOR ME! That line was just awesome in itself because how true is this in any hard time.. you may not have meant it that way but I feel like we all have so many letters we want people to read - we want them to know how we feel about things, our thoughts - but there is no concrete letter. I just really enjoyed this, it brought a new light on a seemingly hopeless situation, yet still maintaining a melancholy tone with the slightest hint of hope. I really hope things get better on your end - but nonetheless keep using your struggles as inspiration to create art like this. Nice write!

Wow Jenni! VERY powerful. The last two stanzas are FULL
of it! (Power, I mean). I really love the line,

"Don't forget to read the letter I didn't write"

There is so much in that! It's brilliant. Excellent writing.

Hey Jenstar, wow, i'm so sorry it's been quite a while since I visited your pages. I have been insanely busy.
Everything aside~
Yes sadly we all go through horrible times/events in our lives, but amazingly God gives us the strength to deal with it and move on. I wish everybody peace, love and warmth to fill their hearts and wash away all the heartaches and hardships they endure.
Your work is always a delight to read dearest Jen. I hope that all is good and well with you.
huge huggers dear friend,
Sue M

This is great, the shifts in emotion and the sadness, but ending on more of a hopeful note... you are an incredible poet!
