They came to terms with their mortality,
And sang “Alleluias” in worship’s dance,
All set to fight to keep their country free,
And win-another country’s renaissance..
They looked their own mortality full square
Into the eyes, - “Alleluia” they sang-
They were seen dancing bravely over there,
And clapping hands amidst their weapons’ clang.
Oh they grew tall, so tall that they can claim
Before the battle started victory;
For death these brave already overcame-
They came to terms with their mortality.
None grows, nor soldier nor civilian
Who cannot look death full-square in the eyes,
But oh! how blessed are all those that can,
And feel the spirit overcome demise..

I am sorry to say that this poem did nothing for me. I found it really hard to follow and that made me lose interest a bit. The wasn't really a flow to it so that made it very difficult to read as well.
