The moon is exceptionally clear
As it casts an exquisite shawl
Of blue across the lake
With a silken sheen
Upon everything that seems
Clearer than reality ever was.
Angles, and curves, and rounded pebbles
So deep and vivid and blue
With orange shadows flickering
Life and time
Sparks flirting with nearby fireflies
But scorned upon their touch.
A moment of love and content
And fear and pain
A moment so beautiful
Can hurt so
Within the fear of the coming day
When this will be in past.
But for now
Sparks burn for brief pleasure
Flying up to face
The fireflies� path
With orange shadows flickering
Life and time to ashes.
