Walk On Me

Contributed by freckle on Tuesday, 22nd July 2008 @ 01:17:18 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Do not walk behind me, or besides me
And definately not in front of me

For if you walk behind me,
you'll have to always watch my back
we both know, you can't handle that

For if you walk besides me,
we would be considered equals
you have made it clear, you are supreme

For if you walk in front of me,
you couldn't really trust me
we both know, I'd run

But if you walk on me
things will be the same as always
and we'll each know our place.

I like the lessons you conveyed with this poem, I thought they were very poetic and quite insightful. It was a very interesting read and gives the reader something they can truly ponder. Wonderful write.

I like this. It is a new take on the quote, "Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." It is clear that the subject is not your friend and you are tired of how you've been treated. Very expressive and a nice write overall.

In complete agreement with Mark on this one. Definitely food for thought. Very wonderful flow. Nice piece.
