girl of the midnight hour
splintered ribs &&
s w o l l e n
heart,
kissing each hollow promise
swallowing every fatal seed

black-eyed ragdoll,
smeared purple lipstick and

*~gli*tt*er~* polish

on your tiny pearl nails,
chewed &&

b.l.e.e.d.i.n.g,

like every other part of you,
you dance with wo l ves and
sing with the
[[ c|a|g|e|d ]] bird

loneliness engraved in your skeletal arms,
forever painting your fears
with n.e.e.d.l.e and b/l/a/d/e
s m i l i n g at the beauty
in every self-inflicted nightmare

you

daughter of m.o.o.n.l.i.t deceptions

son of _hate_

w h o r e to perfection

lower yourself into this poorly dug pit
forget the silent scream of reason
listen to the sweet burning of
match on flesh

the smell of charred regret, destroyed,
replaced by the dark pink face
of listlessness
