~Talking to the wind~

Contributed by shelby on Sunday, 20th July 2008 @ 04:21:11 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I opted to talk to the moon but she had vanished from view.
A fire smoke cast has blocked out the light, of stars and moon that shine so bright.
Not tonight, not tonight.

The wind she began to sing to me,
tossing the leaves on the tree and petals in the wind.
I chanted back and spilled my heart, she took it without a word.

Maybe she listened, maybe in passing,
I shared a souls worth,
bared and truthful each word and tear
passing out, round and round.

The words mingled with branch, blossom and sky
danced near the mountain tops and brooks passing by.
mingled in soft whispers but not one reply
sometimes it is all like talking to the wind.

great write love the images and the expressions in the poem. but sometimes we just need to listen more closesly because not all replies are spoken in words. some of my best answeres have come from the silence. for i have come to notice i seek advice when i know the answere but wish i didnt. and we can all say what anothere should do in a given situation knowing we ourselves wouldnt follow our own advice.

I have to agree with everyone. Another job beautifully done. You have a way with words.

Shelby,

The imagery, personification, and flow of this poem are all terrific. Great job and thank you.
