Whenever a dark cloud
dampens out the sun,
i open up my eyes.
The perfect amount of light
where everything is beautiful,
i think of you
and i don't have to squint.
Just like the cloud
there's so much fire
right under the surface,
and just enough shows through,
and i don't have to squint.
And what i can see
in the deep mystic shadows
in the wells within your eyes
is a bleeding, beating heart
and i don't have to squint.
But dark clouds go away
and all Hell shines through,
though that has never been
what i have seen in you.
You are my silver lining,
and i don't have to squint.
