~Dark Road~

Contributed by shelby on Thursday, 17th July 2008 @ 03:06:02 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

That dark road, surfacing in memory,
once a little two lined place we ran along by light of silver moon beams.
Representing life, meaning and trust.

That dark road, turned into something evil.
Surfaces scarred lost to directions
the devil barking at the heels of feet running
with no place in sight to go.

The gates of hell swung open wide,
at the end of that dark road.
Devil smiling, pulling and tugging
watching you vanish before my eyes.

Heels dug in holding on with two hands
a set of two hands letting go on the other side
the dark road, the devil and the black dog
no angels sitting nearby.

Suddenly that dark road sucked people up
dragging them down into tar shadows
beware signs flashing, cross bones at the cross roads
engulfing all in a under tow of poison..

No more moon beams on that dark road
dark pitch tar skies, suffocating and silent
barren tree's, dead faces, ghosts of all
skeletons rattle, bone yard a calling.

Dark road is now closed, the metal gate swings shut in the wind.
