the shadows on my wall

Contributed by sorrowsofabrokenheart on Wednesday, 16th July 2008 @ 02:38:51 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I lift my eyes from the shattered picture frame
Wondering how I let it all happen again
And I swore I would never love another
But I’ve found myself trapped in the same lies
Feeling the same pain I did before
Who knew a heart could be so fragile

Screaming into my tear soaked pillow
I drown out your haunting voice
This dark room my only reprieve
Where I live out my favorite memories

I need a reason to crawl from this whole in my chest
The strength to pull myself from my knees again
But the silence consumes me
Keeping my mind stuck in what could have been
And my dreams they play like reruns
Trusting in you my only regret

I pick up my phone
Only to torment myself with old messages
Never letting the wounds heal
The thoughts are maddening. And its almost pathetic
How I’m still hear waiting for you
Wishing for what I cant have
Tossing, turning In my sleep, I’ve become restless

I scream into my tear soaked pillow
To drown out your haunting voice
This dark room my only reprieve
Where I live out my favorite memories

These shadows move slowly across my walls
Cast by the moon lit sky and they’re all I have left
So when morning come I find myself alone again
Dwelling on my misery
With no intention to find the other side of heart ache
Content to live with out hope
Because all I had lived for has left with you

My screams die down
Your voice now whispers in a dream
I lay in the darkness fast asleep
Watching reruns of old memories

This is so sad... but beautifully written.
You should spell-check it though...

the theme of the poem is,well, lets say classic; it's easy to relate to it, really, and it has some good images i must ssay. however, over all the poem is a pathos with no catharsis, no end, like a circle. maybe that was your goal wiht the poem as the structure would then match the theme and the emotional charge.
not bad

OMG - needs work?

You made me cry by touching my heart with feelings I too have felt. it is so beautifully written so eloquently rendered. If I read it again I will cry mercilessly. You have a gift in this poem.
