SPARKLE AND DAZZLE

Contributed by Annie on Monday, 17th March 2003 @ 08:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Dazzle them with brillance a saying so old,
You could dazzle me with a little something gold,
Add to my life a little more sparkle,
With a diamond ring then on the morrow,
Place a silver heart on a black silk ribbon,
So all can see just what you have given,
You my true love could really make me shine,
So go on and dazzle me now as we dine,
With champagne bubbling that is chilled just right,
You my love can dazzle me all through the night.

All those jazzie gems now don't you forget,
Or that glittzie bauble for my fancy dress,
Made of soft red velvet with a little lace,
Then you can show me off at any old place,
That night I will wear all my silver bangles,
To remind you just how our love really dangles,
Upon just brillant you turn out to be,
As you prove how much you can dazzle me,

Come on my love, live dangerously,
...And dazzle little ole me...

Great poem but I think you have gone more for the rhyming than the real feel of the poem. I never thought of love as "dangling".

Really good poem though.

Love is razzle dazzle as you say. It's all glitter and gold. "dangles" could be interpreted as dangling a bauble in front of a loved one. But will the loved one be bought? Remember, ladies love diamonds and pearls! Nice imagery.
