Boy you don’t how to keep me down,
They say there is a way that can’t be found,
Nothing without the truth is ever sound,
Anything without wings is ever bound…
Daddy don’t you hold me,
Momma don’t you cry,
Your son aint pluckin his feathers tonight!
Something around is in the air tonight
Can’t tell if it’s wrong or if it’s right,
I never knew true love without my sight,
Baby don’t be mad and start no fight…
Shiela don’t you scold me,
Baby don’t you sigh,
Daddy’s gonna bring home the bread tonight!
I knew it all at once and thus I bought,
An object that could not seek nor could be sought,
I don’t know what to do if I am caught,
My guess is that my fortune will be wrought.
Thank God for love,
And thank God for life,
I’m going home to my beautiful wife!

I like it very much Jason, and you're right it had a real rhythm to it........all through.
Keep up the good work. And try to fill in all the zeros would you? Then I won't have to do it!*smiles*
Enjoyed your poetry very much
