Rose of Midnight

Contributed by NoSaint on Tuesday, 15th July 2008 @ 09:20:22 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Every night as the moon rises
She would waken and dance
Men would throw their money down
Hoping for a little romance

Her beauty was beyond compare
Her eyes a lavender hue
Hair black as midnight
Lips as if covered with dew

To the softest of tones
She sways with her hips
Devilish smile in her eyes
A kiss upon her lips

Men fall bewitched at her feet
Nimbly she twists and turns away
Knowing they will come back soon
And more money they will pay

Seducing dollars through magnetic eyes
But love she has for none
For her heart is as cold
As her world without the sun

Deep within her dream
Her dance would take flight
Floating like a gentle breeze
She is the Rose of midnight
