Grapes Left to Rot

Contributed by wheels on Tuesday, 15th July 2008 @ 07:28:04 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Vines give their life into the fruit
Grapes give there nectar to the vat
Stomped and crushed wickedly
To bleed with weeping sobs into a pool
Whence the ferment shall grip the heart
And release its poison to the stream

The vines poison shall fill my veins
To replace the empty void that is forever empty
Never to be filled
Without you
Never to be filled

I toast the ship that falls into the abys
All in darkness
The worlds end reached
Falling ever falling
A void blinding in its white flashing darkness
Robbing sight from stars not seen

A line tossed my way
A hope
Then dashed
Pulled from my grasp
Desperately grasping
Leaving me to drown within the void
The void within me
And she is gone once again
Lost upon a horizon never to be reaped
Grapes left to rot.

So the poison fills my veins
Vile and futile attempt to fill the void
Empty in my breast
Oh that I had pills to fill the rest
Where vines are all that’s left.

Oh Kevin,
this is so so profound in its sadness.
Sorry I wasnt around lastnight ( stupid work LOL)

Poem is beautiful, full of emotion. Vivid images.

Now on the personal note: remember what I said,
you are better than this than her and it is her loss, I know you are deeply hurt but my sweet Kevin, do not let her destroy your heart, spirit, soul and YOU.

Hugs hugs hugs

Michelle

I will try to get on here after I get home tonight

Great write! I love the imagery and just the immense emotions behind the words. I can hear you cursing the vines, the ship, everything....while taking another swig.

Really enjoyed this piece of prose!

Carol
