I turned a new leaf over today,
A futile expedition some may say.
"This withering world does not allow for such folly,
Take the time you have and use it to chase jollies."
Sex, money, alcohol, boats, and cars,
It's poison with different names, yet it kills us all the same."
And we curse each other without shame,
Yet our own corruption is to blame."
We call God's Bluff, and say we've had enough.
We subscribe to new ideas and revolutions,
We vex ourselves without a solution,
We "free" ourselves from the "God" delusion.
A futile expedition I say,
For when scholars and intellectuals come to debate
About the meaning of life it always ends in stalemate.
A single fallacy can make one contemplate,
And can utterly destroy an opponents case.
We yell and we scream and we break ourselves so,
We argue and argue until the whistles blow,
Around and around in circles we go.
For complex theorems cannot ascertain
Why our souls yearn for something we cannot explain,
Perhaps a God who knows us by name.
