Strange...but I never asked to be
Set adrift on a lonely sea
Who cut the rope, then gave a shove?
Who cast me far from the ones that I love?
Oh cruel fiend! - a mother's bane
the apron's cut, the longing pains;
Those days once full 'til shining moon
now lie asleep and play the tune -
"Where are you going, my little one, little one?"
"Where are you going, my baby, my own?"
I wished you around me for always and ever.
Now, I am grieving you're going from home.
Gazing, I see, through a telescope long
that my adult children are where they belong.
God, help me adjust and not dwell on past days
To remember you have plans, for my life, for always.
