Jello

I hate facing the world from behind the glass wall
The temperature is different
between here and there
The air is not so fresh.

Enclosed within a tomb of melancholy staleness
Crowds become like wet plaster pillars
Through which we maneuver
Arm-in-arm-in-empty comfort.

We push sluggishly into the wall-like humid jello
Trying to pierce the embryo of suffocation
To once again feel the coolness
Of damp grass between our toes.

But sometimes nature is not so friendly
It is just looming there like a hallucination
And you are no longer part of your universe
You are just there like a hallucination
Behind the glass wall.

Omigosh! This is insanely profound! What an incredible concept! I know that
you meant this as more tortured than not, but damn, I have to commend you
on this amazing piece of work! The metaphor alone held my attention, but
the words you chose took a sort of comfort away and left me with a reality
I wasn't sure I wanted to know.

Damn fine writing. Gripping, compelling and leaving your reader with a biting
question he/she may not really want to know the answer to.

Great post!!

Have to say the first thought of your title, was squishy and wiggly...such as something that was whole but not. Sorry im an out there writer, and use differ thoughts, but wow........it was intoxicating the way you used what you penned.

bravo
