A BEAUTIFUL FACE
IN THAT SMALL LITTLE PLACE

I moved to this town
To get rid of this frown;
From the look on my face
I must need a change of pace.

As I pulled into town,
I took a good look around.
At this small little place
That put an instant smile on my face.

I knew I was home
But I was still all alone;
So I found a nice bar
That was not very far.

It was comfortable place,
Smiles on every ones face.
And I seemed to fit in
When they all gave me a grin.

I’ve since made lots of friends,
Both women and men;
Some young and some old,
Some scary some bold.

Then from a far,
You walked into the bar.
Right out of the blue
My eyes first saw you.

With flowing fabulous hair
Like wild flowers in the summer’s air.
Sparkling eyes, such a beautiful face
A breathtaking smile in this small little place.

So where have you been
With that sweet little grin?
With sparkles on your face
That make my heart race.

As you walked by
I just tried to say hi,
But my throat got a lump
And my heart went “THUMP! THUMP!”

My knees got weak
As I attempted to speak,
And my head started to spin;
All I could do was just grin.

I tried to recover
From the spell I was under
And I glanced up to see
If she was still looking at me.

To my wondrous surprise
There were those eyes.
With a look that was so sweet,
I knew we must meet.

My life felt so right
On that warm summer’s night,
I knew you must be
The woman for me.

As you gave me a stare,
I damn near fell out of my chair.
As your gaze came across,
I knew my heart was lost.
