The Root of My Evil; These Evanescent Thoughts

Contributed by ingeniusidiot on Tuesday, 8th July 2008 @ 09:46:26 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Transient thoughts through midnight hour
Come to bide their time
All the while locked away inside my mind, my tower
The grandfather clock down the hall sounds its final chime

The final chime rings in my hollow shell
Darkness suffocating thick
I feel the breath of evil lurking, a toll of shivering hell
As my heart skips in my chest sitting heavy as a brick

Realizing not that it is this empty being from which I want to flee
As breaths become shallow and sight becomes dim
While sailing across still waters, eerily calm as if upon the Dead Sea
For it is from these very thoughts that all evil does stem

Some say the going is easy yet it is the living that is hard
When hearts turn to ash and eyes grow dim to darkest coal
The soul falls away in tiny fragments; dust into the wind, heart’s a tiny shard
And the will of might and fight forevermore elude the soul

Wow! Very dark and deep. (And just a little c r e e p y)

This was exceptionally and darkly emotive. When you two get together
to write something dark, it never fails to astound and inspire. Great post!

Very eerie ~
