My love, My wings, My cure

Contributed by wheels on Tuesday, 8th July 2008 @ 12:39:17 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It is not the devil that creeps within my veins
A serpent, nay
That travels with spines penetrating
Deep within my heart
‘Tis a demon
A whim of love that has let the liquor
Worm its self about my heart
In memory of you
The mescal seeping from my tears.

I have been bitten oh so deeply
‘Tis no cure under gods gaze
You have me poisoned with your love
A diamond I cannot escape
Nor shall I try
To dodge the mescal glistened fangs
Yet in your absence the worm eats slowly at my brain
I am but a fragment
A puzzle evermore
Incomplete without your piece.

Once strong
In your eyes my wings were wrought
In your eyes
The shores upon which I drown
I am nothing
Yet, I can be everything within your eyes*
I am the song within your heart
You are the life within mine
Your departure has left me naught
But the worms within my brain

Yet destiny to heaven
Hand-in-hand some day
Destiny fought upon the battle field of earth
‘Tis postponed within your heart
Yet destined is our path
If not here on earth
Then in heaven
Whence the demon
May release the
Longing from my heart
Holding evermore
You within my arms
My love, my wings, my cure.

(*Makes reference to an interpretation of the song Una Palabras by Carlos Varela)

Nicely done Kevin

My heart and soul weeped as I read this piece. The hope, the longing, the pain ridden heart waiting for release.

Bravo my friend.

Peace

~Shannon

Yes raw, but......Deep with full emotion. NEVER let thyself feel a write from within is too raw.let it write itself. You did just that and it was amazing.....Taken from all that is there. I sit and read and feel, wished they would.

Wow Kevin,
This is incredibly beautiful.

'I am but a fragment
A puzzle evermore
Incomplete without your piece'

Such deep loving emotion.
Off to read the others you mentioned......Mike
