Shame...Anxiety

this shame sits beside my anxiety
fast friends
they taunt me, own me
make coats of my skin
they are partners in this- it is an equal share
they portion me out and chew me well
i am their nourishment
they dig under the grit and hardness
they find where i am soft
shame tears at me with his razor sharp teeth
anxiety, her bite is duller, harder, more enduring
i am a feast
every painful moment, every hope rounded out on lies
every stolen happiness, every father
they will not go hungry
shame and anxiety
they sit upon my shoulders
they hollow me out
by the time you read this...i am only the outsides
all that is left is grit and the hardness
you can hear the echoes of their sated sighs

Confession is a great thing, if you feel shame and anxiety it means you are spirtually alive, and it is not too late. Nice job.
