Outrun The Sky
With certainty, there is in life
Specific times of toil and strife
A heart may seek to question why
That such dark clouds would mask the sky
It’ll have its time and when it’s done
Then from within, will come the sun
An angel sings so you will hear it
It’s hard to break this human spirit
So when the rain that falls on thee
Presents itself pretentiously
Let these wet drops not get you down
And turn a smile, up from that frown
In this life’s balance of ballet
There are tragic scenes within a play
And no one day, could save the night
There’d be no wrong without a right
Yet here you’ve had a trying day
So bad, you’d like to run away
It matters not how hard you try
You’ll never once, outrun the sky
So set yourself a steady pace
For through this life you should not race
And when you’ve had all you can take
It’s from those clouds the sun will break

Stephen, this was so inspiring and beautiful. What a lovely sentiment
and so generous of heart. Thoughts so well put and very wise words, my friend.
I ADORE the title. Damn!
