I remember all those years ago, with sullen heart and tears in your eyes.
Saying we have to go, leave our home move far away.
A little girl such as I with big sad brown eyes, hugging your leg and begging
no please stay, do not go do not go away.
Years moved on touched by the hands of time, I missed you.
I grew, I thought of you, but we didn't see each other for years.
I knew where you were, you knew where I was, but still the still and the but.
Families destroyed by past, the ghosts in the closet and no, no turning back.
We missed so much, I have always known but tonight it has struck my heart.
Playing on the heart strings knowing now it is final, no last words, just sweet thoughts.
Maybe a little anger mixed in with the notions, that things were that way.
Never a doubt you always loved me, I you though we missed, we were kept away. Tucked away.
It sits heavy right now, like a large stone needing to be purged from my chest.
So many things I feel cheated from, just because nobody could get along.
Be loving and kind like family should I suddenly feel a surge of anger like the fireworks lighting the skies I look upon.
Funny isn't is how we sit, and over the years, stuff things down, only to have them surface once more.
Things are what they are and they were what they were.
They will continue to be just what it is that they are being.
For tonight I can go back and remember, and dream of soft smiles, warm kisses
and the thoughts of you, maybe even some make believe that we were always together, even though we missed.

Wonderful purging, Michelle. Bittersweet mixed well with fond memories. Y' know, the most recent purging I did was "purge" welding at a Coca Cola Bottling plant puttin' in a new revolutionary cleaning system. Hmmmm. Got paid good money fer purgin'.
Nice write, missed ya and more anxious to git the internet back in my home --- soon.
