A Summer Memory

The day has lost all meaning.
Where once I saw beauty
in the torrents of summer
when rain falls and sways from the sky
to the streets and sidewalks of my city,
I only see a memory of you:
A lone figure
in a silhouette of green
standing in the chaos
of rain and thunder,
as beautiful as any breeze
that stirs the trees
from their slumber
or any quiet that erupts
from the mundane
when one understands
solitude and God
are one.
