AWESOME CHORUS
Clouds peeled then released there juice,
Upon lacerated lands below,
Strangled by a lightning’s noose.
Dripping water from rocks that are porous,
Drummed out a beat,
To the storms awesome chorus.
Shelter seemed futile all the while,
Weather changed to an angry mass,
Gusts almost scraped like a file.
The taste of fear clung to trees fingers,
As animals in burrows,
Didn’t know whether to leave or linger.
Calm… sun beams pulsed the earth,
Wind coils dropped to slight,
Birds once more set forth.
A rainbow painted across the sky,
Sea birds splashed pallets of white,
Like artist’s mile high.
Dew drops shimmered like crystals,
Still drumming out a beat,
But sounding like an empty pistol.
Was it a day to remember?
Or just another bleak,
Cold era in December.
