To be around you every day
You look on me as just your friend
You are here with your latest love
While I've no choice but to pretend
You glance at me then look away
In your big brown eyes I see a light
Could the smile you are smiling now
Be for me or for Him tonight
I know now that you never knew
How when your hand brushed over me
Your fingers would burn me like brand
Yet be soothing as a gentle sea
Your father sent you away to school
He said He felt it's for the best
I miss the most the laughing smile
I shall Miss it more than all the rest
I know to you I'm just a friend
And that is what I'll always be
Yet I shall love you till I die
And they shovel sod over me

A very touching, heartfelt piece.
Your ache seeps from every word
and your reader cannot help but
be engulfed in the emotion.
Splendid post. You'd have to be made
of stone not to be moved.
take care~

I know that I left out an "a" between like and brand
but as of yet can't find a way to correct it. Any suggestions please feel free to let me know how it is done. Thanks, jsringo - Wayne |

A very beautiful poem full of emotion. I could feel the pain and relate to the words. |
