Wings Of A Dreamer

I stretched my tired wings
Their brittle feathers rustling in the winds
Look upon these wings of mine
Restless and broken but yet still fine

Oh I wonder can I still fly
Or was my flight just a lie
Did I truly soar over mountains so high?
Or was my flight just a lie

Did I really reach for the skies so blue?
Or was my flight simply untrue
Did I really reach the very top for you?
Or was my flight simply untrue

Did I really kiss a cloud to compare to your lips?
Or did I really dream of all of this
Did I really dive to the deepest depth?
To simulate your embrace and how I drowned when you left

My wings seem weak and unused but will I take flight
For I have never flown since that fateful night
I flutter once but they beat so slow
My wings and I have so far to go

Far from your memories and far from all I know
Far from where your wind can never blow
Did I really ever know how to fly?
Or did I simply let love die
