lost and found

Topic: oops

we were so close i could feel your heart beating
from over 900 miles away.
it was just the bond we shared
i guess.
then one day that bond was severed
in a way that felt like death.
now my mind and heart
are in an overload of emotion
im on the verge of a breakdown
if im not there already.
i was told you were dead,
even read an obituary.
yet today,
searching for my highschool friends on myspace,
there you were.
i made you a promise,
and these four years
ive done my best to keep it.
but you have not.
did you forget about me,
or was the death i felt
just your love for me dying.
these four years i have searched high and low
for some way to contact you,
find some information on you
and now i have.
and im scared.
i dont know what to do
i cant stop shaking.
i sent you a message,
and i already have a good idea
of what your reply will entail
if you choose to send one at all
ive struggled to live without you,
and have only done so
because of the hope
that we'd be back together someday.
and now that ive found you
i know there's no way
i can make it without you.
if nothing else,
know this.
through everything,
i have always loved you
and i swear to you,
even if i wanted to,
i could never stop

this is heartbreaking, and overwhelmingly beautiful.
i especially love the lines,
"or was the death i felt
just your love for me dying."
and "i have always loved you
and i swear to you,
even if i wanted to,
i could never stop"
your words are so powerful, and so emotional. you're a very talented poet, my friend.
