Wolves Too Lonely to Cry

Cars drift by humming
From someplace past
Another soon to pass
No place past I recall
‘cept where rain storms fall
With tides ever pushing
Crowded… no place going
As nature nearby taunts
On pine-wood winds
Whispering in wolf-call howls
…Distant and lonely.
Not all wolves seek social pain
There are those with gray eyes
Who travel distant
The wild call
Of snowbound valleys
Much too gentle for common rumors.
Though,
Nature does not mind
She understands
Sighing as she lies down gently
Her snow silk shawl
Slipping slender from her shoulder
Her hands held out with open arms
Not always gentle
But always there
For wolves too lonely to cry.

I believe you captured the soul of the "lone wolf" exceptionally well
with this. (Whether intended or not). What a perfectly sad and torturous
line ...
"For wolves too lonely to cry"
I'm just stuck there. It's ... I don't know, just too damn painfully beautiful.
The metaphor in the second stanza is wondrous. Though it pains me to admit
it, you are right.
Sometimes solitude is our only comfort.
Hoping peace finds your heart ~
~Breezy

I can Imagine gray eyes looking to break" we are not always where we want to be. I can imagine their silence, they would leave no evidence in leaving..this is what i`ve taken from your write...way cool. Crow |
