Humble Me

Contributed by The_Phantom on Sunday, 16th March 2003 @ 08:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I don't write great poetry, I write from the heart,
I don't expect to make profit, on the writing market,
I write what I feel, I write what I see as real,
I speak through my words, welcome to my world,

Mysteries of the heart, fore I'm just a small part,
Of this world that revolves around you Lord,
I don't ask for much, just a soft touch,
I was given this gift at birth, but didn't relize it until I was curse,

My first heartbreak, my thoughts then covered the paper like paint,
My tears ran free, but the emotions spoke so beauitifully,
But still I have room to improve, until then my gift stays locked in a room,
More and more I try, to the point of tears forming in my eyes,

I'm just a man, with a gift to write with a pen in my hand,
I wasn't blessed with a big vocabulary, just a gift to mix the words up passionately,
My words cut through stone, even more so now that I'm alone,
A soldier by trade, I pray my words will never fade,

Will I be remembered when I'm gone, or forgotten like a SoftCell song,
If I have any fans, this is to you I hope you understand,
My true name means Gift Of God, but I find that kind of odd,
The Phantom sounds more true, but my real name is Matthew.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

Matt...I have read your words, (More and more I try, to the point of tears forming in my eyes) I got to say to you that is what happens to me when I write. It shows me an inner longing to place those feelings onto paper and to make it right. Good on you mate, hope it all goes the way you want. I will make a prediction, judging by the sincere comments that others who know you better than I have placed, your words will be like your spirit, they will never fade.

TT

Anyone can put words on paper. Few can put their heart and soul on paper. You underestimate the power of words from the heart! Once again, thanx for sharing.
