Through the eyes of a child

Contributed by GreenEves16 on Sunday, 29th June 2008 @ 10:19:36 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Throught the eyes of a child nothing seems wrong
Everything is right, anticipateing,
They reach out with great curiosity

Through the eyes of a child there is not violence no hate
Joy and happiness at any new findings that they always
seem to find

Innocent and friendly, naive but knowing
Understanding and forgiving.
This is seen through the eyes of a child

Once in a lifetime we try to see and then forgive
Of that which is hard to become blind to
We try to gain innocence but that is long gone

God gives us lifetime oppertunities and
We have to take them before it is to late
A time to forgive and forget

Heart so true its hard to believe that one little
inncident can change how a child see's the world.

Welcome to YPDC.... I think I am gonna love your work...

This poem is especially dear to me because as a teacher I have seen too many children abused. It is heartbreaking to see some of the things kids have to endure.

A well written poem..... Keep them coming..

Jenni

thank you so much, i know it is EXTREMLY sad seeing little kids being abused, i mean what does it teach them? to be afraid to try something new? not knowing if they will be hit. Let them learn on they're own, with guidence from adults.

You move me on the dance floor of poetry like a funky madman with beautiful eyes of poetry that sparkle rhymes that make sense and a rhythm i long to dance to on the floor until midnight when i will look at the moon as all the famous poets and find muze their and find the paradise in your eyes and poetry that makes me weeak like this is fantastic and moves me like a camel under the eye of a needle. I will find you when they start that dance and teach you many things but you can teach me this which is a teaching of teachings inside of the word of poetry world where the mask dies to a criminal wearing tights.
