Listen can you hear it over your drowning booming voice?
The beating of your stone cold heart, pounding in a hollow shell.
How does it still beat, giving nourishment to your body?
When it is made of cast iron that does not yield.
How do you live
do you not see
the aching hearts
sitting so close ?
The ones that feel
the ones that ache
the ones you belittle
the ones you break.
You say no one knows you oh such a fool you shall be.
I can look in your eyes and it is the soul that I see.
The tyrant beneath, the worldly shell, deep inside the fire and hell.
Nestled beside your cast iron heart, beating null and void in a hollow shell.
