Love's Retreat

Contributed by wheels on Saturday, 28th June 2008 @ 01:02:35 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The wind is chilly
It moves like an unseen wall
Ten miles high
A military assault taking over
Causing retreat to warmer havens
Pockets
Where lovers cling together
In oval spheres of desperation
Sheltered from the frost at their backs
Hoping it shall stay there

The day drizzles
In weeping waves of loneliness
And I think “My love…
Where are you
Should you not be here
In my arms?
For clearly I see you in my heart
Sitting upon its banks
Bathing your feet gently within its tears.”

You sit thoughtful
In the cool rain
Your head leaning to one side
Your hair flowing in raven kisses
Down your neck
Resting plaster-wet upon your breast.

I see myself sneaking up behind you
My arms sliding smoothly around you
Embracing warmly
In the sticky binding dampness.
Your head tilts back upon my chest
Resting gentle with lips parted oh so slightly
Tasting the droplets of love….
Yes, rain could be no sweeter
Than the salt of loving tears.

Thus,
The day drizzles on
In weeping waves of loneliness
And I think “Where are you my love…
Should you not be here
In my arms
For I can see you clearly
In my heart?”

Kevin,

The day drizzles on
In weeping waves of loneliness

One of many lines so beautiful in this write.
You take a few words and paint a portrait of everything lovely in this world.

I felt you soul and the touch of sadness in this write too. Knowing you do miss her, bless your heart.

Hugs
Michelle
