I thought I'd never love again,
I felt no passion,
Had no hope;
My fire had burnt out.
Now you hold me in your arms,
Sheltering me, as an ember,
Protecting me from harsh winds,
Blowing gentle breezes my way,
Keeping me alive.
I feel the warmth you emanate,
It sparks something within me,
As my passion flows back,
And my hope returns,
I find myself loving you immeasurably,
And I am no longer an ember,
But a burning flame once more.
