It is cool where blows
The willow without leaves
Slender over meadows
In shawls of yellow grasses
Rustling in a gentle slumber.
You knew she was magic
Loved…
Slender and sleek
Stretching naked beneath the golden sun…
Tender and trusting.
They had seen her also,
Evil coming in carriages
Rolling in from the distant cities
Seeking spoils to plunder.
They bound her mercilessly
Tearing into her flesh
For their feast
Only to await the harvest moon
Sewn in peasant trappings.
The spoils come not so easy
Hence the caravan rumbles slowly to a whisper
Trailing dust upon her shoulders
Now soiled and weeping.
The Fences left but scars upon her wrists
Though magic never dies
When given time to heal
And trappings could not cover
A form meant for embrace
With passions kisses
Chilling up her spine
Leading to her face.

Kevin, there is a cruelness in the world and it steals and corrupts everything
we love and hold dear. This piece could be interpreted as Mother Earth being
raped by the parasites that infest her beauty. It leaves the heart so incredibly
sad and tortured. But as you have placed this under "love or romantic" poetry,
it gives it an even deeper and more profound anguish.
Enormous and beautifully painful ~
You talent for making the intangible emotions, tangible is amazing!
~Breezy
