Child's Play

Contributed by LoveStruck_Hippie on Friday, 27th June 2008 @ 07:18:28 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

How is a heart to heal
When the mind will not give in
Holding on to vivid pictures
Of loves most painful sins
Trust betrayed, security smashed
Hopes and dreams destroyed
Lifetime of promises broken
My heart a child’s toy

Cast off without regard
Pieces strewn about the yard
Each tiny little memory
Left dying on the ground
My love beaten and forgotten
This heart it does still hope
Each piece will be gathered
By one who holds the rope

Peace

~Shannon

You have captured my emotions... the ones I have had for the last few weeks... I had really lost hope, but have had a glimmer of it today still held precariously in a line tossed my way. It is very a very emotional piece.

Shannon,
this left a few tears in my eyes. I wish I was three hours closer we would be together right now I would be hugging you.

You captured the deepest of your heart and soul in this write. The picture speaks on its own as well.

Hugs
Michelle

Oh sweetie ... how desperate love feels at times, I know.

I love how you wrote this. The first stanza is brilliantly crafted and
exceptionally emotive, especially the last line. I understand what
it is to hurt in this way and my heart goes out to you. It is so torturous
to pick up the pieces of a broken spirit and try to fit them together again.

Kudos to you. For your talent, your bravery, your strength ~

*hugs you tons*

~Breezy
