Odd to See Odyssey

Contributed by Southpaw on Thursday, 26th June 2008 @ 02:29:56 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

What will it take to win this race?
How far along will I chase this place?
I was something
I wish for nothing
Searching along the muddy banks
Never willing to give love my thanks
I am nothing
I pray for something
Jumping through this radiant sunlight
Taking ease of this life’s plight
I will be something
I think of nothing
What will it take to beat the day?
How far along will I get lost on my way?
I was everything
I wish for anything
Breaking through this nights darkness
Not sure of life if I want more or less
I am anything
I pray for everything
This world turns at its own rate
Everyday for my life I am late
I will be everything
I think of anything
What will it take to find my spot?
How far along will I chase this lot?
I was something
I wish for anything
Rambling through thoughts on a higher plane
Not knowing whether these thoughts will be inane
I am nothing
I pray for everything
Looking beyond the waves to find out the reason
I get farther behind with each passing season
I will be something
I think of anything
What will it take to beat the strain?
How far along will I get lost in the rain?
I was everything
I wish for nothing
I’m still moving ahead in this time
Looking for that point that becomes my prime
I am anything
I pray for something
The future never looked so brighter than now
Going to this place out ahead to see how
I will be everything
I think of nothing
Will I ever find my one true place?
Where will I finish in this great human race?
