I Must've Changed.

I sit by the fireplace, freezing like a corpse,
Looking down on the fire that went out long ago.
I hear the doorbell ring again, and I stumble as I open it..
All I see is a reflection of yesterday, with no one to answer my question.
'Hello? Anyone there?..'
I throw my glass in the fireplace..
The sound of shattering hate rings like bells.
I´m struggling to fall sleep. I keep looking out the window,
Hoping to see you up on the hill..
'Please arrive soon..'
The morning sun burns my dreams into dust.
The feeling of despair has gone.
I lit a new fire. It warms my senses back to reality.
I sit by the fireplace, with my new glass.
The doorbell rings again, this time unanswered.
I look out the window, hoping to see you up on the hill,
Hoping to see you walk away..
'One day', I said to myself...

You begin to wonder if you really miss the person or are just obsessed with the loss. As much as you want them back, part of you wants to see them finally "walk away"
Excellent write! I can relate and I am impressd with the way you expressed yourself. |

Nicely done. Cool metaphors. I can definitely relate to the emotion. |
