I wish you would open your ears to things beyond yourself
~I dare not speak on thoughts or feelings buried deep within~
~Knowing when those thoughts are pronounced they fall on depth ears~
~What happened to the time when everyones voice was heard~?
~Instead of being waved away and told that you are absurd~.
~Emotions and idea's all kept locked up tight, knowing if I say a word,
~it will oft be smitten and struck like a small ball, to fly high into the sky.~
~Thus it may be forever that when I speak it is in slivered words~.
~Backing off subjects or remaining silent, wishing to be heard~.
~Forgive me for having my own emotions, thoughts and feeling too~
~Forgive me for not always having the same thoughts that the rest do~
~Maybe the problem doesn't lay with me, it could be that those few, just do not want to see~
~A world from a different perspective or per chance maybe I could be right~.
~So within me I keep those thoughts buried deep inside~
~The key to the gateway is locked, once in awhile speaking in slivered words~

I think that so many of us can relate to what you have written here...I know that I can. I think your entire poem can fit perfectly into what has been going on with me personally. This was deep and heartfelt...and it was brilliantly written.
