The phantom

Topic: LovePoetry

The Phantom

Tonight she waits expectantly
Imploring her lover to pay a call
Some say he is a spirit
No more than a shadow on the wall

She can never touch him
Never hold him in her arms
Ah but how well she knows his touch
She has surrendered to his charms

Tonight as she lie sleeping
The phantom will appear
And he will gently kiss her lips
Whisper “ Darling I am here”

Immediately her heart is racing
Her pulse rapid and weak
She must not open her eyes
Dare not chance a peek

Her back arching gently
Moans escaping trembling lips
Her fires burning with abandon
Into ecstasy she slips

Just before the dawning
Before the first light of day
The Phantom will retreat
But never far away

Then she will awaken
To sunbeams dancing on the wall
The Phantom but a dream
She tries desperately to recall

But come the midnight hour
When shadows have their way
As her body trembles
The Phantom will play !

Russ
