Things only i could see

Contributed by tautscher27 on Saturday, 15th March 2003 @ 11:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When i was younger,
i felt like i was alone,
like there was nobody i could turn too,
like i was meant not to be known.

Then i found out i had a grandma,
the best there could be,
she was always so nice,
and so close to me.

She was like a best friend,
the kind there could not be,
and also like a sister,
that only i could see.

She helped me through my lonely days,
she helped me through my fights,
she made life sound o so easy,
like the wind soaring off a kite.

She couldnt stand to see sadness in my eyes
and seemed to be able to read my mind,
she always helped when i needed her most
and never resigned from her kindness post.

As i grew up,
she became older too,
soon she passed away,
i felt my life was through.

That lonliness came back again,
like an empty space in my life,
i soon did realize,
that my knew best friend was a knife.

But i moved on,
and found new friends,
that helped me live my life,
and helped make the tradgey end.

I will soon be 13,
which marks 5 years since she died,
everybody that asks about my past,
i never tell the truth,
i lie.

I tell them it was awsome,
i say theres nothing to say,
but deep down inside my heart,
i knew of one horrible day.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
