~Walking in the Garden of tears~

Contributed by shelby on Friday, 20th June 2008 @ 06:47:25 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

The garden doesn't seem as beautiful
it seemed to wither a bit round the feet.
Hearts left to suffering, each breath a feel of defeat.
I am so very sorry that we caused each other pain.

We let loose of our hurts and let anger rise.
Hurtful words and moments floated, like fire in the sky.
Turning the world gray and currents of rain began to flow.
Causing salt inside open wounds a gaping lingering hole.

I feel your touch of heartache, as I am sure you felt mine.
I do not want to bring such pain again, I want all to be fine.
It pulls at withering heartstrings to the point they may break,
I hope we can move forward from our few mistakes.

It pains me so to read your words brushed with such pain.
Like the artist that paints the furry in a storm with grit and grain.
I weep at the thought of it and I hope it will not be,
without you in my life my soul would grumble and weep.

We are given many gifts in life and I hope you know your mine.
I linger and I ponder I soul search and I cry.
Please take my hand, in the distance of the dream
and lets run far and wide and mend the broken stream.

I hope you can forgive me, for the part that I did partake
know that deep inside me I want to make it right.
I want to see a happy smile and tears and pain subside,
I will be right there from a distance walking right by your side.

I am so very sorry.

Michelle

A powerful and sincere write, Michelle.. How could anyone not forgive and forget.....
We all make mistakes and screw up at times.... and deserve a second chance....
Hugs
Jenni

You know, I have an ex-girlfriend--i actually have many ex-girlfriends, but that's besides the point--that once told me that I needed to forgive myself before I could forgive anybody else. I scoffed at her (of course), but on reflection, I find that she was right.

More oft, I think we need to forgive ourselves before we expect another to forgive us.

Anyway, good write.

always, abraham

I agree with the last comment when they said that one must forgive themself before they are able to forgive another...something that I am struggling with right now. I have asked everyone to forgive me for what I have done but I cannot seem to forgive myself and with that the anger that has been festering inside of me continues to fester and grow...it isnt directed towards anyone outside anymore just the withering soul within...it is a battle that is far from over I am afraid...but the damage has already been done and everytime I open my mouth I seem todo nothing but make it worse. I am so sorry...here I am writing a novel when I should be telling a friend thank you for her kind words. This is a beautiful poem...some fences take longer to mend than others....
Thank you Michelle.

Rich

Deep sentiments are felt in this one. I hope that soon your broken streams flow freely as good friends are hard to come by. Great piece............Mike
