Sleeper Cells

Sleeper cells on the map; an acute
Satellite somewhere tropical,
Sleeper cells glow like uranium; all
Hot-button and topical,
And all mute and pulsatory
From an affectionate afar,
And with a far cry of latency,
In their bright radar.
Sleeper cells play tag team
With the nepotism, the fuels
Of family feuds and legacies
Spurred by kittenish duels.
They effervesce like alloys
Ascending as deposits.
In the soil, in moribundity,
A sleeper cell now sits.
There lie statutes
In a certain sullied charter
That outline the passions
Of such a fearless martyr...
And with an unleashed whimper,
The souls do adhere,
But are hushed on the map
By the habit of disappear.
