Flamingblade: Hiding Behind My Mask

Contributed by flamingblade on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 @ 11:31:06 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

All along
hidden among the years
A small child circled in fears.
Will they accept, will they stare,
will they look at me with hateful glares.
I need them here, in the dark,
walking through the trailer park.

Strange actions, open humiliation
Inside, a loud cry for retaliation.
Then an empty space
A hidden face covered in tears,
Crying out in the following years.
All the while in the hidden wallows,
an field of pain, an empty chasm
seizing in a frightful spasm.

Years pass, a so-called home
More like being locked in a dome.
Empty face, darkness covered
A ghost that has always hovered.

Dark circles under they eyes
Demons lurk, no suprise.
A small voice,forgetable face,
A lost soul that has no place.
They talk and talk about the hate
But it is clear that it's too late.

A cutting pain that'll never show,
A darkness they can never know.
A cheerful mask,
Concealed rage.
Flamingblade,
locked in a cage.

I know how you feel..I am struggling with my own demons right now and this is the best way that I have to fight them and that is by writing.
You did a beautiful job. I liked the last stanza...
Good job.
You are not alone.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
