~The light's are on but nobody's home~

Contributed by shelby on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 @ 09:07:23 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Lights soft and low, are glowing through the windows.
Sound from the tv drifting past cracks in the doors.
Knocking on the door, nobody comes to answer
Realization hits sullen there is nobody home here anymore.

Yellow tape wrapped around and the do not cross sign is out.
The skeletons rattle in the closets, trying with their might to break free.
The clock still strikes at midnight, the moon still casts her blue shadow
Something is a miss and the hands stopped on the dark hour.

Wind whispers through the tree’s and the shadows form in rows.
Clothes line still weighted down with yesterday’s first load of clothes.
The swing sways in the wind, with not a soul around.
The ghosts walk about, quiet with hardly a single sound.

The halls creak and moan, under pressure of such pain.
The clouds roll in and it soon begins to rain.
Washing away the once was, it all soon disappears,
the sulking sound of silence deafens numb ears.

Wish I could hug you right now.
I remember. You could always make me feel you and your heart darlin.

I see now what keeps your attention while I am gone.
This is a beauty. I wish I had more time to spend being part of this world with you.

I love you
Gar
