~Remembrance~

Contributed by shelby on Tuesday, 17th June 2008 @ 03:41:57 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

Years have passed but I think of you still.
I feel the moan of sullen mourning.
Over the valley and yonder hill
Rivers run and the eagles are soaring.

Life cycles go on season’s change
Caught in remembrance of a spring day
When life suddenly stopped and re-arranged.
Hearts turned to stone in spring rain.

Many a dream died in the still of the night.
I feel that moment embedded still.
The stars all fell from the dark sky
Embellishing all in a black cold shroud.

We stood together in that place
and tossed our red petals and roses
agony of formed pain streaked each pale face
We couldn’t form the words to say goodbye.

Miles away I couldn’t go to the place you rest.
So I held a memory near and hugged it through the day.
We were told in that moment of pain, tis true another test.
Years have passed but I think of you still.

Billy I will forever miss you, some of my heart went with you all those years ago.
Gone but not forgotten.

~Michelle~

Michelle,

This is a very endearing and deeply touching tribute. I think that it is unfortunate that a piece of our heart does go with each passing love or loved one. Yet we can find comfort that there is hope we will not only find that person again, but that missing part of our hearts will be together again forever.

Days go by and sometimes we can get through with out remembering, without forgetting and in those moments our heart can feel complete again. But then we think, then we remember, then we get that sinking feeling, then the heart feels much lighter, but the soul heavier.

It's sad, but as you've shown here there is beauty within our losses and our sadness. It is true what they say. It is better to have loved and lost then never at all. And loss only occurs when you really love.

Superb!

Daniel

Sweetie, this piece has me in utter sadness .. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I know for a fact that time does not dull the severity of loss. All we can do
is continue to move forward, and know that we will see our loved ones again.
Your words are beautiful and full of emotion, hun. Love and peace to you.

*HUGE hugs*

~Breezy

I knew that come Fathers day you would think of him.
It is hard to believe that all these years have passed and yet he still lingers with so many. It was a tragic loss. You are beautiful darlin

I knew you were thinking on him baby.
I never tell you enough how proud I am of you.
You write from your soul and your heart and it is that heart that keeps me loving you always.
You will be surprised when you find out I stopped by your second home for a bit.
I love you.
