In the kingdom of Seldom,
All of the cats dodge the leering canine,
Whose tongue is all too spatulate
And large - a lopsided panacea for a fine,
Few, pummeled children, who,
In the land of Free Quent,
Would have long ago said goodbye
To that dismal school stint.
Of course, in Seldom, the people
Have uncanny resolve, having confronted
Failed parachutes, absurd stays in the mountains,
Where at the peak, a good chum almost bunted
Them right off inadvertently
With a zealous congratulation.
It is a friendship that, in the outside world,
Would not survive without the elation
Of the thin exalted air. But,
In the optimism of this land,
Mustered in the high peaks,
One can visually understand
That forgiveness does thrive,
That is has not flatlined.
Camaraderie has been dolloped on those tough,
Entrepreneurial peaks, defined
Against the cartoonish sky, heaped
Up with the fuzzy textures of guides,
Of sherpas. In turn, these idyllic athletes
Defer to the warm hides
Of their dogs. The noses are accomplished,
And they, immune to perdition,
Only dig out what is buried en route,
Like the microchips embedded - twentieth edition -
In their soft, scruffy necks. The people relish
Those dogs, their rare pals who Seldom
Live beyond fifteen, who, when
Called, always come.
